Despite being a morning person, I hate actually waking up. The initial “getting out of bed” portion of the morning is quite possibly the least enjoyable part of my day. Luckily, I have found something that actually makes me ecstatic to get out of bed: my $16 ice roller

When I tell you I almost sprint to the freezer each morning to use it, I am not exaggerating. The simple daily routine of using my ice roller brings me so much joy. (Even if I am packing school lunches at the same time.) While it is indeed freezing for the first few moments, it quickly feels great and invigorating. As a bonus, it has a ton of benefits other than just feeling good to use.

After reading about ice rollers online a couple of years ago, I used the more common ice roller with a handle for quite a while but making the switch to this cute little pink one helped ice rolling to go from just okay to phenomenal in my book. It is seriously so delightful. Let me count the ways.

First off, the roller is double-sided with two different roller options that are better contoured for faces and necks. This really helps with the de-puffing, firming, and calming benefits. I like to think of them like tiny massages for my under-eyes, face, and neck. While the results are not quite Miss Congeniality or The Princess Diaries makeover montage level, they are noteworthy and help me feel more fresh-faced in the morning.

Second, I have sensitive skin that is prone to redness and that can often get worse from traditional creams and serums. Ice rolling has helped alleviate the redness without the use of skin products and I love that it can be used by anyone with any skin type whatsoever. With the warmer weather of spring and summer quickly approaching, I can look forward to the cool treatment whenever I need it.

Third, the design is fabulous and a breeze to use. The roller is small and easy to hold with rounded corners. The handles create their own clever little case that covers and protects the rollers while traveling or being stored in the freezer. With my older ice roller, I always had to store it in a container because my family loves EBTB seasoning and it seems there are always stray poppy seeds and dried garlic everywhere in our kitchen. On the off chance it does get dirty or needs to be cleaned, this ice roller’s design makes it very simple to care for and wash.

And fourth, we are constantly finding new uses for it throughout our days! The cold rollers are perfect for treating painful headaches and sinus pressure, which came in very handy when I had COVID twice in the fall. Living in Florida, I often pull it out of the freezer when someone gets a dreaded mosquito bite or has had too much sun exposure. My kiddos love it for soothing growing pains in their legs before bed and tending to their occasional bumps and bruises. As you may know from my post about cozy mysteries, I truly enjoy a pun, which brings me to quite possibly one of my favorite things about the roller: the name. “SOICY” or as my daughter pointed out, so icy! That funny little pun brings a smile to my cool and soothed face every time I use it. I just adore my soicy ice roller.
